Promoting Safer Driving
We're showing people how to ride safely
With "Respect for the individual" as a basic corporate principle, Honda engages in the promotion of safe driving habits and strives to communicate the importance of active and passive safety measures. Through such educational activities and the design of its vehicles, Honda endeavors to minimize the risk of traffic accidents and related injuries.
Honda's Traffic Education Centers
Active safety measures are indispensable for reducing the number of road accidents. However, Honda believes safe driving habits are equally important. Therefore, Honda is striving to spread awareness of driving techniques that increase driving safety. In Japan alone, Honda has trained approximately 180,000 safe driving educators and instructed approximately 435,000 citizens at seminars, schools and eight dedicated Traffic Education Centers. Honda’s safe driving education efforts are global in scope, local in focus, and expanding in popularity around the world.
Fun Motorbike Seminars for Parents and Kids
On weekends and national holidays, Honda sponsors events allowing parents and their children, mainly elementary school students, to experience the fun of riding motorcycles. These events are held at Honda’s Tama Tech center and five Traffic Education Centers throughout Japan.
Riding trainer
This training equipment was developed by Honda to improve the ability of riders to anticipate danger on the road. Honda hopes the equipment, part of Honda’s "riding simulator" program at various training schools, will become widely adopted and contribute to safety awareness around the world.
