Honda manufactures approximately 30 thousand water pumps a year in its plants located in Japan, India, China and the United States and supplies them.
Water pumps are indispensable for farming, construction sites, supplying water during a drought and removing water in the event of a flood caused by a disaster or other emergency. There are a number of types according to the respective application. General- purpose pumps are used in fields for irrigation and at various construction sites. High-pressure pumps are used when water needs to be pumped up to high elevations or over long distances, and ultra lightweight pumps can be easily taken anywhere. Our lineup for certain markets also includes trash pumps that can be used to pump water containing a certain amount of solids (30mm in size or less) and special pumps that can be used for chemical reagents.
Regardless of the type of pump, engine performance has a large influence on the quality of the pump, since water pumps are generally operated for many hours at a constant speed. Until the WX10 was introduced, almost all small pumps with a one inch class bore were powered by 2-stroke engines. Honda decided that it would focus on the development of a 4-stroke engine for this class, and released the WX10, which incorporates the super compact GX25 4-stroke engine that can be inclined at any angle in the 360° range. The same level of lightweight and performance as with a 2-stroke engine have been achieved with a much higher level of environmental performance consisting of low fuel consumption, low noise and less-polluting exhaust gas emissions. They have a wide range of support by ordinary households all over the United States for use in watering lawns and vegetable gardens.
