| In order to plant trees suitable for the local ecosystem around the factory, starting in 1976, employees have been taking trips to woods and forests in the surrounding areas, collecting acorns and raising seedlings in pots. Seedlings that were 50cm high when they were planted have grown to a height of 10 to 15 meters. Approximately 260 thousand trees in the Hometown Forest around Kumamoto Factory absorb more than 500 tons of carbon dioxide per year, which amounts to 5% of the emissions of the Kumamoto Factory. |
