Honda produces approximately 5 million general purpose engines per year in Japan and eight other countries around the world, and integrates them into its own products as well as supplying them to various power product manufacturers around the globe.
The professional use GX engine is one of our best selling products, with cumulative production exceeding the 30 million-unit mark. The GC/GCV engines for trimmers and household use achieve high performance at a competitive price. An ultra-compact 4-stroke engine that can be inclined to any angle through 360° has been developed for the handheld market. This has enabled environmentally-friendly 4-stroke engines to be installed on lawn mowers and other products previously not thought possible. What's more, there is a high level of expectation for the iGX engine to expand the possibilities of power product as the next generation engine with its world first use of STR governor with electronic rpm control. Honda general purpose engines have cleared the Phase 2 emission standards of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in the United States and the Tier II emission standards for California Air Resources Board (CARB), the most demanding in the world.
