Hellowoods is an expansive forest and brushland where visitors can come into direct contact with nature. It is located in the middle of "Twin Ring Motogi," where international car races are held, including the Indy Car Races, America's most historical and traditional car race. Visitors can experience the joy of discovering a variety of unusual woodland creatures. In the terraced-rice fields, they can observe Hatcho dragonflies (northern pygmy flies) with a wing span of a mere 2 cm, the shortest in Japan, Hawker dragonflies, and giant water bugs and other aquatic insects at the Mizusumashi Marsh.
Honda first opened Hellowoods out of a desire to provide our children who will lead the next generations with something to experience aside from cars and motorcycles. In order to transform the woodlands into an area of forests and hills where no human hand has touched for centuries, Honda workers started building paths, after going to forests and mountains on numerous occasions and carefully studying them as well as animal trails. In addition to Honda generators and brush cutters and trimmers, power carriers, mini tillers, and lawnmowers, Honda general purpose engines are used in chip shredders, simplified monorail systems, and similar equipment, playing an important role in improving and protecting woodlands that have been restored to their former natural state.
