Honda Sets Monthly Production Records for Automobile Production Overseas, in North America, and Asia

June 27, 2013 –Honda Motor Co., Ltd. today announced a summary of automobile production, Japan domestic sales, and export results for the month of May 2013.

Production in Japan for the month of May 2013 experienced a year-on-year decrease for the sixth consecutive month (since December 2012).

Production in regions outside of Japan experienced a year-on-year increase for the 16th consecutive month (since February 2012), setting record high production for the month of May. This includes record high production for the month of May in North America, USA, Asia, and China.

Worldwide production experienced a year-on-year decrease for the first time in two months (since March 2013).

Honda’s automobile sales in the Japanese market for the month of May 2013 experienced a year-on-year decrease for the fifth consecutive month (since January 2013).

New vehicle registrations experienced a year-on-year decrease for the 10th consecutive month (since August 2012).

Sales of mini-vehicles experienced a year-on-year increase for the 17th consecutive month (since January 2012).

Fit was the industry’s third best-selling car among new vehicle registrations for the month of May 2013 with sales of 9,418 units. Freed was the industry’s ninth best-selling car with sales of 4,291 units.

N BOX was the industry’s second best-selling car in the mini-vehicle category for the month of May 2013 with sales of 14,627 units. N-ONE was the industry’s eighth best-selling car with sales of 8,300 units.
