Honda Sets Monthly Records for Automobile Production Overseas, in North America, and in Asia

March 28, 2013 – Honda Motor Co., Ltd. today announced a summary of automobile production, Japan domestic sales, and export results for the month of February 2013.

Production in Japan for the month of February 2013 experienced a year-on-year decrease for the third consecutive month (since December 2012).

Production in regions outside of Japan experienced a year-on-year increase for the 13th consecutive month (since February 2012), setting record production for the month of February. This includes monthly records for production in North America, USA, and Asia for the month of February.

Worldwide production experienced a year-on-year decrease for the first time in 14 months (since December 2011).

Honda's automobile sales in the Japanese market for the month of February 2013 experienced a year-on-year decrease for the second consecutive month (since January 2013).

New vehicle registrations experienced a year-on-year decrease for the seventh consecutive month (since August 2012).

Sales of mini-vehicles experienced a year-on-year increase for the 14th consecutive month (since January 2012).

Fit was the industry's fourth best-selling car among new vehicle registrations for the month of February 2013 with sales of 12,245 units. Freed was the industry's eighth best-selling car with sales of 7,283 units. Step WGN was the industry's ninth best-selling car with sales of 7,155 units.

N BOX was the industry's top selling car in the mini-vehicle category for the month of February 2013 with sales of 22,354 units. N-ONE was the industry's sixth best-selling car with sales of 10,981 units.
