Honda Thank You Exhibition Celebrates Company's 50 Years in Business

Tokyo, April 20, 1998 --- Founded in 1948, this year Honda Motor will celebrate its 50th year in business. To celebrate this anniversary, the company has organized a number of events under the umbrella slogan - Thanks. Let's enjoy. Let's see our dreams come true. These include the Thank You Exhibition, which will take place over 9 days from May 9 to May 17 at the company's head office in Aoyama, Tokyo. After that, the exhibition will be shown at 8 other sites around Japan, and will also go overseas to the Isle of Man in the UK.

The theme behind the Thank You Exhibition is that, while envisioning one's dreams is enjoyable, it's even more fun making them come true. Telling the story of Honda's first 50 years, the exhibition is designed as a thank-you to people in the regions where Honda has built its operations. The company also hopes that those coming to see the exhibition will go away with the conviction that Honda still has many dreams that it wants to turn into reality.

The exhibition in Aoyama is spread over two floors. The Welcome Plaza on the 1st floor contains three displays, entitled Challenging the World, Challenging New Concepts and New Technology, and Challenging for the Top. As well as motorcycles, automobiles and power equipment, there are also displays of racing machines and a variety of engines. There is also an Internet corner, where visitors can see the special Honda World presentation created to celebrate Honda's 50th anniversary, which took place in March 1998. Finally, a 12-screen video wall shows a thrilling motor sports video entitled Challenging for the Top.

On the second floor of the exhibition are displays of Honda products - motorcycles, automobiles and power equipment - from the last 50 years that chart the company's history, together with a mini-theater showing some favorite commercials from the past.
