Tokyo, January 22, 1998 --- Honda Motor Co., Ltd. has announced the launch of a new version of the popular Step WGN (Step Wagon), which, although a vehicle qualifying for ordinary family-size sedan registration, is large enough to make family touring a convenient pleasure. The new "Step WGN Field Deck" comes with a pop-up observation/tent, designed for outdoor leisure pursuits and made out of fiber-reinforced plastic (FRP). The new model will be available from January 22 at Honda auto dealers throughout Japan. The Step WGN Field Deck has been developed by a Honda affiliate, Honda Tokuso Co., Ltd. utilizing the double sunroof Step WGN model.

  • Double entrances fore and aft into the pop-up roof section allow entry even if another person is asleep in the tent
  • Tent panels made from neoprene, so highly waterproof
  • Lets in plenty of light and a cool breeze; insect nets fitted across all three windows of tent portion (front and two sides)
