Ecology/Safety/Security
For Cities, for the World and for Riders-Advanced Technology for more Enjoyable Riding.
Honda is continually pursuing a variety of research to make bike life more enjoyable.
From environmentally friendly engines and advanced security devices to easy-to-operate safety features and riding safety courses, Honda is the industry leader.
Here is a close look at some of this advanced technology.
Ecology
For Enhanced Environmental Compatibility.
Dio Z4 FI
Dio Z4 FI
PGM-FI (Programmed Fuel Injection) uses electronic control technology to supply the engine with the ideal air/fuel mixture under all conditions. The result is reduced exhaust emissions and improved fuel economy. Honda has been developing this technology for more than 20 years and has equipped it to many models. In order to apply PGM-FI to 4-stroke 50cc scooters, cost and size concerns were resolved by producing compact, simple integrated systems with superior cost-performance. The DioZ4 FI is the world's first 4-stroke 50cc machine to feature PGM-FI. Following is a closer look at Honda's PGM-FI.
Safety
Experience the Future of Mobility.
ASV Riding Simulator ASV Riding Simulator
The ASV (Advanced Safety Vehicle) is part of a Next-Generation Automobile Safety Development Project promoted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport. Honda uses radio signal technology to alert drivers and riders about the proximity of other vehicles. By automatically supplying information about the speed and location of other vehicles via a communications network, the system helps to prevent accidents. When turning right, the ASV technology can warn drivers about oncoming vehicles or possible impending collisions. Why not go for a spin and take a ride into the future?

Riding Trainer
* The actual riding trainers consist of the handlebar unit and pedal unit only.
Riding Trainer World
Reflecting our company policy of respect for the individual, and to promote education and training for safe riding, Honda has developed a riding trainer for use in dealerships and other venues. The simple construction features an operating section connected to a personal computer monitor to replicate actual riding conditions. The system also reproduces the sounds, vibrations and other sensations associated with riding and is ideal for teaching new riders how to operate a clutch and brakes and perform other basic tasks. It can also simulate typical dangerous riding situations, advise the student about the results and help the user polish defensive riding skills.
The Latest Technology for Stopping.
Motorcycle Brake Technology
Honda is not only developing technology for going, but for stopping, also. The 'Combi Brake' system operates both front and rear brakes proportionally when the brake pedal or brake lever (on scooters) are operated, allowing almost anyone to brake with confidence. This system is featured on a variety of Honda models from supersport bikes to commuters. When ABS (Anti-Lock Brake System) is combined with Combi Brake, we call it 'Combined ABS.' All of these systems make riding more enjoyable by increasing rider confidence.

Security
For a "Smarter" Bike Life.
Smart Key Smart Key Smart Key
Simply by having the key in your possession allows it to communicate with the bike. This advanced security system with an electronic control function has proved to be effective in theft deterrence by preventing key pickers from being able to pick the keyhole and start the engine by hot wiring. Moreover, the main switch automatically defaults to off just by walking away from the bike while still keeping the key in your possession, with the answer back function carried out by the four winker-lamps blinking. The smart key brings added convenience to riding in various situations.
Protect Your Valuable Motorcycle.
H·I·S·S
H·I·S·S (Honda Ignition Security System) uses an original ignition key with a built-in chip which communicates and is recognized by the engine control unit. Only when the signals match can the engine be started. This electronically controlled security system is another Honda original.
Key Shutter
A shutter on the ignition cylinder prevents tampering with the ignition, and models featuring this security device concentrate the seat opener and handlebar lock mechanisms in the main switch, providing a high level of security to guard your valuable motorcycle.
