DUALNOTE High-performance hybrid sports car of the future FACT BOOK

DUALNOTE
Honda presents a new concept in sporty driving.A mid-engine, 4-seater sedan that delivers both performance and efficiency to spare.

It started with a dream: we wanted to create a car that lets anyone experience the exhilaration and joy of sporty driving, without demanding sophisticated driving skills. One that delivers all this, while at the same time addressing important environmental concerns. The result was the DUALNOTE-a car born out of a fusion of contradictory values. This concept is manifested throughout the vehicle, from its powerplant, right through to its packaging and design.
The hybrid powerplant, an original Honda design, delivers ample power while at the same time making efficient use of our planet's resources. The innovative exterior design attains a harmonious fusion of hard and soft lines. ... Finally, a car that lets people from all walks of life experience for themselves the exhilaration of a purpose-built sports car. DUALNOTE-Honda's latest offering in driving excitement.

DUALNOTE
An advanced hybrid synchronized-control system that combines high-powered output with steadfast environmental friendliness.
The DUALNOTE comes equipped with the Honda IMA System. A further refinement of our unique Civic Hybrid system, the powerplant combines a 3.5-liter V6 i-VTEC engine with electric motor assist. Two additional front-drive motors are added, for a drive package that puts out a impressive 400 horsepower*1, while at the same time achieving unprecedented fuel economy of 18 km/L*1. The result: a fusion of high-powered output and steadfast environmental friendliness. But that's not all. DUALNOTE's mid-engine, rear-drive, hybrid 4-wheel drive powerplant also comes equipped with ATTS*2 for smoother, more stable cornering and VSA*3 to suppress side slip. These systems are synchronized to work together, providing 4-wheel independent control that employs each tire to maximum effect, for a car that delivers the ultimate in starting, stopping, and handling performance.

Pulling away Accelerating during cornering During normal cornering
Electric motors drive the front wheels to move the vehicle smoothly away from rest. The motors also work in concert with the gasoline engine to boost power for sportier acceleration. The front motors and rear engine+motor are governed to ensure optimum front-rear power distribution. At the same time, the two independent front motors regulate power to the left and right front wheels to provide the right amount of torque for the driving conditions, accurately responding to driver inputs and road surface conditions to assure that the car stays on line throughout the corner. During normal cornering when the car is not accelerating, the system activates regenerative braking of the front inside motor employing the torque difference between inner and outer wheels. This improves cornering capability and efficiently recoups energy.
An IT instrument panel, so you can keep your mind on the road.
The instrument panel is designed to deliver only the necessary information when it is needed, for maximum comfort and driving pleasure. It is divided into three optimally-positioned display units, built around interactive voice recognition technology jointly developed by Honda and NTT (Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation).
