Improvement in Fuel Economy
Mid-Term Target and Progress in Achievement
In fiscal 2005, we introduced new models to Thailand and other regions and increased the sales volume of small, highly fuel efficient vehicles equipped with the FI system. As a result, we improved the average fuel economy in four regions (Japan, the United States, Europe, and Thailand) by 33.1 percent (compared with fiscal 1995). We were able to achieve or surpass our targets for improving fuel economy by approximately 30 percent (compared with the fiscal 1995 level) in three consecutive years. • Improvement in Average Fuel Economy*
