Verification testing of next-generation personal mobility products
Honda began a new challenge in 2010: the verification testing of next-generation personal mobility products in Japan and the US. The testing program is to be conducted using electric vehicles (EVs), plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs), and electric scooters and carts featuring electromotive technologies, along with solar power generation and other sustainable energy sources. It will explore future forms of personal mobility and their potential for CO2 emissions reduction applying Honda's distinctive, comprehensive approach.
Based on the results of this testing program, Honda will seek to further advance the electromotive technologies used in its personal mobility products while leveraging the strengths of its solar panels, cogeneration units, and other energy-generating products to work with customers toward the creation of an low-carbon lifestyle based on total energy management that brings households and communities together.
In addition to Japan and the US, Honda will conduct a similar program in China.
