We took a different approach than before to design the tool box. On previous models, an ordinary, black, box-shaped container was tucked behind the side cover. But now that the CRF450R motocrosser has an independent side-racing number plate covering the silencer, we wanted to accentuate this area of the CRF250L that inherits the CRF450R design. In addition, the side cover itself is now part of the tool box to get more space for storing items besides tools.
Excuse me for saying this, but many standard tool boxes seem like they were just added there because they are supposed to be there. But the one on the CRF250L is designed with intent. It's also more spacious than it looks. This kind of function pleases riders.
