Honda FSW Technology

First in the world

Innovative thinking that shocked the world

The conventional FSW method utilizes a large amount of mechanical power to join metals, requiring massive, specialized equipment. However, Honda invented the High Rigidity C-type welding gun arm, which can effectively disperse the power needed to join metals. This device, which can produce large amounts of mechanical power despite its small size, overturned conventional ways of thinking.
Since the High Rigidity C-type welding gun arm is small enough to be used in combination with industrial robots, it is now possible to join metals using the FSW method on production lines for cars, where detailed work is a necessity.
