Beirer Finishes Second on
Home Ground
Second Consecutive Points Finish for Atsuta |
A 17th place finish for Yoshitaka Atsuta earned him championship points for the second
race in a row. Meanwhile, Pit Beirer delighted the home crowd by crossing the line in
second place, his best result of the season and enough to lift him into second position in
the standings. Fourth place for Joshua Coppins, still in action after receiving a three-month
suspended ban for failing a dope test, was not enough to prevent him dropping one place in
the standings to third. In the 500cc category, Andrea Bartolini is still hanging onto fifth
position in the rankings despite crashing out of today's race.
