World Motocross Championship 250cc, Round 7, Bulgaria
Coppins Third and Beirer Sixth, Defend Standings Positions |
Pit Beirer shot out with the leaders at the start and reached 3rd place early on. Joshua
Coppins, meanwhile, had been relatively quiet at the beginning, but in the middle stages he
caught Beirer and overtook him to move up into 3rd position. The leading pair had already
opened up a gap of 10 seconds, however, and that's how the top three finished. This result
gave Coppins his 5th podium finish in a row since Round 3 in Germany. Beirer was sixth
across the finish line after falling near the end. Andrea Bartolini jumped up one place in the
500cc rankings after finishing 7th despite heavy strapping on his injured finger.
