Pit Beirer stole the hole-shot for the fourth time this season, followed by Joshua Coppins in
2nd. Coppins then stayed in 3rd place throughout the early stages of the race with Beirer
slipping back to 4th, but both managed to keep these positions until the checkered flag, and
hang on to their 2nd and 3rd places in the standings, respectively. In the 500cc race,
Andrea Bartolini took part despite an unhealed broken finger and managed to finish in 13th
place, while Beirer took 6th and his first points in that class.
