Victory for Fujinami, Lampkin Clinches Sixth Championship |
Takahisa Fujinami managed to hold off Dougie Lampkin on day one of the closing round of the championship in Japan and grab first place by two points, although second place was still enough for the British rider to capture his sixth career world title. Montesa-HRC's clean sweep of the podium was ensured when David Cobos took third. Cobos ended the season by moving up to fifth place in the championship.
