World Trials Championship Round 6 France
Lampkin Dominates Day Two, Podiums for Fujinami in Second and Third |
There was a very fine line between clearing the mountaintop section and incurring a 5-point
penalty. Dougie Lampkin (Montesa-HRC) had to content himself with 4th place on the first
day after gaining 5 points from a small error, while just one 5-pointer for Takahisa Fujinami
(Montesa-HRC) was enough to hand victory to Albert Cabestany (Beta). Lampkin was still
unable to produce his best form on day two, but found himself the winner in the end after a
series of small mistakes from Cabestany and Adam Raga (Gas Gas). A 5-point penalty on a
relatively easy section dropped Fujinami down to 3rd position.
