After tasting defeat for the first time this season in the previous round in the USA, Dougie
Lampkin (Montesa-HRC) continued to slip up at Andorra, where the honors on the first day
were claimed by Albert Cabestany (Beta). Nevertheless, Lampkin was able to hang on to
second place before a strong performance the following day gave him victory, and the
result moves him ever closer towards a consecutive championship title. Takahisa Fujinami
(Montesa-HRC), the man who defeated Lampkin in America, finished third in both races
this time to consolidate his second position in the rankings, although the gap with the
leader is widening.
