In its efforts to develop a new commercial vehicle for the 21st century, Honda reexamined the characteristics considered important in these vehicles. The result is the prototype Acty Truck, a "smart" commercial vehicle offering highly practical features such as versatile cabin space and a large rear bed. This smart vehicle offers improved safety for both occupants and pedestrians, as well as environmentally responsible design. The prototype Acty Truck - Honda's solution to the need for a car that is useful to everyone.

Honda aimed to achieve a high-level fusion of safety, environmental friendliness, driveability and practicality.

The prototype Acty Truck features a rear bed that is 70mm longer than those of comparable existing models of the same overall length. Yet it achieves world-class collision safety performance, thanks to Honda's original G-Force Control technology. The Acty Truck's high-level offerings include superb environmental friendliness, flexible cabin usage, powerful response that ensures smooth driving performance even when fully loaded, and excellent handling that realizes stable driving at high speeds.

The combination of a midship engine, rear-drive configuration and forward positioned front wheels the Acty Truck prototype to offer low seats and wide doors for smooth, stress-free cabin access.

-One-press lift-up passenger seat.

With a single press of the lift mechanism, the passenger seat lifts up to reveal a flat space that can be used to store cargo or make room for the driver to enter and exit from the passenger side.
