The Honda LEV was developed to immediately take advantage of technologies available today. Through original technologies, Honda created a revolutionary low-pollution vehicle with the power, comfort and safety levels of a gasoline-powered car. Emission results in 10.15-mode, 11-mode and U.S. LA-4-mode tests show LEV emissions of CO, HC, NOX and other harmful substances are only 10% that of standard rates.

Based on its original, highly efficient Hyper 16-valve engine, Honda has developed a gasoline engine with among the world's cleanest emissions. Three advanced exhaust reduction mechanisms help minimize harmful emissions in all driving conditions - from cold-starts to quickly alternating acceleration and deceleration. The first mechanism optimizes the gasoline/air mixture during engine warm-up, while the second, computer-controlled mechanism optimizes the mixture thereafter. The third mechanism efficiently purifies exhaust emissions.
