Bogle Crowned Eastern Regional 250 Supercross Champion

Torrance, CA: The final stop of the 2014 Supercross series took place Saturday night in front of a sold-out crowd at Las Vegas' Sam Boyd Stadium and Team Honda Muscle Milk riders Justin Barcia and Trey Canard finished 4-5 respectively. It was an amazing night for Muscle Milk-backed GEICO Honda's Justin Bogle, who secured his first-ever 250 Supercross Championship with a second-place-overall finish in the main event.

In qualifying, Justin Barcia found himself up front with the third quickest time, giving him a good gate pick heading into the evening. He was impressive in his heat race, finishing second and transferring directly into the main event. During the final race of the night, Barcia launched off the line to a mid pack start and sat in eighth after the completion of the first lap. He put his head down and fought through the field, taking the checkered in fourth. He finishes his sophomore year in the 450 class fifth overall in the championship.

"I'm really disappointed in myself; I can't believe I wasn't able to get a win this season," stated Barcia. "I felt good most of the day but didn't get the best start in the main event and started to tighten up halfway through it. The track was really slick and difficult. I'm ready to work hard during these couple off weeks and head into the motocross series strong. Hopefully I can get some wins there."

After an impressive second-place finish in his heat, Team Honda Muscle Milk's Trey Canard jumped off the line to a mid pack start in the main event. He negotiated the slick track, working his way into fifth throughout the 20-lap race.

"Today was a real rollercoaster for me," Canard said. "I struggled throughout the first two practices and then after making some bike adjustments really started to feel much better. I felt good in my heat and rode well but again wasn't able to get a start in the main event. I am grateful to be leaving here safe and am looking forward to heading into a fresh motocross season."

250 Class

The Muscle Milk-backed GEICO Honda team has had one of the most dominant 250 Supercross programs in the paddock, and it showed in Vegas as Justin Bogle extended the team's streak of championship winning seasons to five years in a row. Bogle propelled his CRF250R off the line to the holeshot and rode out front for the first five laps before relinquishing one position. He rode strong the remainder of the 15-lap race, crossing the finish line in second and claiming his first-career title. Bogle recorded six podium finishes throughout the season, including two victories.

Bogle continued by saying, "I had thought about just going for it and trying to win but I didn't want to do anything that might cause me to crash, so I just remembered the bigger goal and stayed happy with second place. This No. 1 plate was the goal and now it's going home with us."

At the final round of the season, teammate Matt Bisceglia rode stellarly and finally put together the performance he has been looking for his entire rookie year. He grabbed a third place start and maintained that position throughout the entire race, scoring the first podium finish of his career.

"I feel great," Bisceglia said. "I'm really pleased with the way I rode tonight. It all started coming together for me towards the end of the season. It's incredible how much talent there is at this level, and to see what Justin did to win it all is really cool."

Muscle Milk-sponsored GEICO Honda's Zach Osborne brought his Western Regional 250 Supercross campaign to a close with a respectable seventh-place finish. Despite missing a couple races early in the season due to injury, Osborne finished the season in eighth overall.

The Focus: Carter Powersport Dealer Appearance

The Honda Red Riders headed to Carter Powersports in Las Vegas on Friday, May 2 to spend time with race fans and sign autographs. In attendance was Team Honda Muscle Milk's Trey Canard, along with GEICO Honda's Justin Bogle, Matt Bisceglia and Zach Osborne. It was one of the best turnouts of the year with fans coming from all over the country, and internationally to meet their favorite racers.
