The Power Products R&D Center develops generators, tillers, lawn mowers, snowblowers, and general-purpose engines that function as the heart of such equipment, and also conducts research and development for a wide range of useful power products for a high quality life for people, such as outboard motors, household gas engine cogeneration units, and electric 4 wheel scooters.
In development, Honda is actively committed not only to quality, user-friendliness, and economic efficiency but also to the increasingly serious issues of global warming and how to improve energy efficiency. ‘Miimo’- Self-Propelled Robotic Lawnmower

‘Miimo’- Self-Propelled Robotic Lawnmower

The Power Products R&D center has developed ‘Miimo’, which is a self-propelled lawnmower dedicated to households across Europe.
The European robotic lawnmower market has been expanding since around 2004 due to lifestyle changes and a demographic shift toward the elderly.
A robotic lawnmower is designed to be selfpropelled within an electric boundary wire installed under the ground of the garden while keeping lawns cut on a fixed schedule. When an embedded battery level decreases, it automatically returns to a charge station. It also maintains lawns neat through constant cutting and saves owner’s time by eliminating a disposal of clipped lawns dispersed into the lawn root system.
