Creating the ideal power unit required the development team to attain an affordable price, fuel efficiency, and practicality.

The team was challenged to satisfy the following development requirements:

  • Lightweight, compact and simple structure
  • Top-of-class fuel efficiency
  • High-quality feel while achieving superb durability and output characteristics that stress practicality

To meet these requirements, the New Standard Commuter (NSC110) employs an air-cooled, 4-stroke, 110cc single-cylinder OHC engine with the programmed fuel injection (PGM-FI) system for Japan, China, Europe and the other countries.

For Indonesia, the New Standard Commuter (NSC110) employs a carburetor-type, air-cooled, 4-stroke, 110cc single-cylinder OHC engine.
