- Dan Wheldon passed a crashing JR Hildebrand on the last turn of the last lap to win his second Indianapolis 500, at the 100th anniversary running of the Memorial Weekend classic at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
An incredible day of action highlighted final “Bump Day” qualifying at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, as the field was set for next week’s centennial celebration Indianapolis 500.
- On a day when the major IZOD IndyCar Series teams stumbled, Alex Tagliani and his Sam Schmidt Motorsports team prevailed on Saturday to claim the pole for next weekend’s 100th anniversary running of the Indianapolis 500 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
