Drivers yet to make the field include rookie Phil Giebler, who started a strong qualifying run this afternoon, averaging more than 221 mph, before crashing in Turn 2 on his final lap; veterans Richie Hearn and P.J. Jones; and second-year IndyCar racer P.J. Chesson.
Roger Yasukawa (#24 Dreyer & Reinbold Racing) on leading second-weekend qualifying:
“It actually was an easy run for us, a piece of cake. The team gave me an excellent car and this is a fantastic result for us. I can’t wait for race day and my fifth Indy 500.” |
