In progress towards certification by the FAA, the first FAA-conforming HondaJet recorded a maximum speed of 425 KTAS (approx. 787kph) that surpassed the target speed of 420 KTAS (approx. 778kph) during a March 2011 test flight. The FAA-conforming HondaJet also achieved a maximum operating altitude of 43,000 feet (approx. 13,000m), which was the aircraft's target performance, during a test flight in April 2011, confirming the HondaJet's high performance capabilities.
