Casey Stoner is certainly the the man to beat in 2012. He’s the current World Champion and he is experiencing the best form of his career, not only on track but also on a personal level. Casey, married and inseparable to Adriana since 2007, returns to the track to defend his title in MotoGP and will celebrate becoming a father in February.
The Australian rider enjoyed a spectacular 2011 season after returning to the Honda family to be a part of the factory team after having spent four very impressive seasons with Ducati Corse, where he won the 2007 World Championship. However, his second MotoGP World title has been even more impressive with 16 podiums in 17 races, 12 pole positions (a record in a single season, matching Mick Doohan), 10 victories and 7 fastest laps. Stoner made his name in Ducati in 2007, giving the Italian manufacturer its first and only world title and has already etched his name in the history books in his first season with Honda, winning their first and only 800cc title in 2011.
