To mount a high-output liquid-cooled DOHC engine and provide dimensions worthy of a full-size on/off-road model, the development team came up with a newly designed frame. Its form makes use of a steel twin-tube frame to realize an agile ride while securing nimble handling and rigidity. An oval cross-sectional shape from the main pipe to the pivot plate ensures a slim vehicle body that improves ground reach and a vertical rigidity that can withstand input from the suspension. In addition, special attention has been paid to the pipework and shapes to express a powerful and slick exterior appearance that is reminiscent of cutting-edge motocrossers.
Key dimensions include a wheelbase of 1,445 mm with a 27.6° caster angle and 113-mm trail, to strike a balance between in straight-ahead running stability and quick turning performance.
