Styling Design

The styling of these three models is designed to express the originality for which Honda is known the world over. While they may share the same engine, frame and wheels, it is the features that have been incorporated all over the bikes that make them instantly identifiable as Honda Sports bikes by our customers around the world.

Concretely, we built the bikes' distinct presence on a platform of the dynamic sporty form of Honda's flagship CBR1000RR, CB1000R and Crosstourer machines, to which we added the polished simplicity of the bikes' 500cc performance and function to create a vibrant modern shape.

Their superlative maneuverability and comfortable riding position also means that the bikes are easy to handle in a way that is rare for a 500cc class machine.

Therefore, in addition to a styling that can express each individual rider's lifestyle, we merged the exhilaration of the ride and the bikes' build quality with a variety of design elements to make each one a machine that customers will want to use all the time, whatever they are doing, because the thrill of riding it fills their heart with joy.

We firmly believe that we have created 3 models of new value that will enhance lifestyles and broaden horizons, because they will not hold their riders back.

Engine Design

In order to express the fuel efficient nature of the engine, we abolished pointless ostentation and went instead for a mechanical side-view that overflows with functional beauty, and modeled a bold head area that is both compact and powerful. The result is a liquid-cooled 500cc DOHC parallel-twin engine with an advanced and powerful image that is approachable in its simplicity.

Also, the crankcase and cylinders on both the CBR500R and CB500F are matt axis grey metallic, which gives the engine a sense of solidity and makes its taut styling stand out even more.

The cylinders and crankcase on the CB500X are colored iron nail silver, the same color scheme as on the CFR series off-road machine, which gives it an agile look that is in keeping with the bike's concept.

Meter Design

The meter is fully digital and the indicator design is both sporty and functional.

And while the indicators and data-loaded LCD displays are functional, they also enhance the futuristic aspect of the bike.

Moreover, the lenses on the uppermost part of the meter have been harmonized with the development concept behind each machine-the pure Sports image of the CBR500R is expressed with a clear lens. On the CB500F we have used an exhilarating blue and on the CB500X an agile amber.

In this way, the meter design warms the sporty heart of the machines by ensuring information is accurately relayed to the rider in a fashion that is in keeping with the Sports bike concept.
