ISTANBUL, Turkey, May 7, 2006– ASIMO has enjoyed a record audience throughout a week-long travel across Turkey on a three-stop city tour.

ASIMO's first performance in the evening on May 6 drew 2,500 fans to a spectacular event at the Grand Cevahir Hotel in Istanbul - ASIMO's single largest ever European audience. The huge crowd demonstrates the number of friends and fans ASIMO has made in the country since first visiting Istanbul in 2004.
Whilst in Istanbul ASIMO also appeared on ATV's flagship evening news program as its star guest, demonstrating advanced recognition capabilities. Hosted by Ali Kirca, a popular local news presenter, the show is regularly watched by over 12 million viewers. |
Following Istanbul, ASIMO will now travel to Izmir (Karsiyaka Spor Salonu, 9th May) , and then finally Ankara (Anatolia Showland, 14th May).
ASIMO's second visit to the country is to celebrate the launch of the all new Honda Civic Sedan, which is manufactured in Honda's Turkish factory in Gebze, and follows ASIMO's memorable visit to Turkey in 2004 highlighted by a meeting with Mr Tayyip Erdo-an, the Turkish Prime Minister.
