ASIMO visited the Hawkley Hall High School in Wigan, northern England on April 15, 2005. The purpose? To attend classes promoting science, engineering and technology among youth. On this particular occasion, ASIMO joined a classroom full of 11- to 16-year-old students who want to become scientists and engineers, providing them with a real-life example of how seemingly dry science classes can actually lead to the development of exciting, world-leading technologies. In fact, his very presence showed how science can help turn dreams into reality.
Beyond the U.K., ASIMO has been playing a role in similar programs in the US and Japan.
