ASIMO Shakes Hands with Belgian Prime Minister |

14th Jan 2005 – ASIMO met with Guy Verhofstadt, the Belgian Prime Minister, today at the 83rd Brussels Motor Show. Mr Verhofstadt, accompanied by the organizing committee, met and shook hands with the robot at Honda’s stand whilst inaugurating the event.
The meeting is the most recent of a series of important encounters for Honda’s robot. In 2004 ASIMO was introduced to political leaders including Germany’s Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder, Bavarian Minister President Edmund Stoiber and Turkey’s Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
ASIMO, making a first official appearance in Belgium, enthralled the crowd with performances throughout the first three days of the show, demonstrating that Honda’s dreams for future forms of mobility are closer than ever to becoming reality. |
