| ASIMO has been recognized as an excellent example of work in his field, and has entered the Robot Hall of Fame |

| Alongside ASIMO, other robots also welcomed into the Hall of Fame included Robby the Robot (from the movie ‘Forbidden Planet’), C-3PO (from the movie ‘Star Wars’), Shakey the Robot (the first intelligent moving robot), and Astroboy (from Tetsuwan Atom). The Robot Hall of Fame exists to recognize the leaders in the history of robot development, and was founded in 2003 in the Carnegie Mellon University. ASIMO was selected, due to being the first humanoid robot to have mastered walking like a human being, with independent bipedal walking skills that are unseen to date in any other robot. |
