ASIMO has seen Asia and the Pacific. At the motor show and other events here in Singapore, as in all other places, ASIMO attracted many visitors and conveyed a message about cutting-edge technologies and potentials for the near future. This important message is slowly but steadily reaching many parts of the world.
Singapore Motor Show
ASIMO visited Singapore for a two weeks-plus stay November 12-29, 2002. ASIMO was already famous before arrival and it was a very busy stay visiting places where local people waited to meet the humanoid.
Upon arrival, ASIMO was met by Singaporean mass media for interviews. ASIMO made a self-introduction as being a two-legged humanoid robot having the ability to go up and down stairs, with a size that had been carefully selected to comply with the life of the humans, etc. ASIMO even told the press about the new Honda Accord. ASIMO's arrival was reported widely in local media.

ASIMO was the center of attraction at the Singapore Motor Show that was held November 15-24 at the Convention Center, where ASIMO was surrounded by political and financial VIPs, more TV crews and journalists, and lots of children. The young visitors spent some great time taking pictures with ASIMO.

Other events in Singapore
After the motor show, ASIMO visited many places in Singapore and children were everywhere wanting to see ASIMO at the shopping center, Science Center, and Driving Center. They were awed and laughed as ASIMO demonstrated many talents. By the time of departure, ASIMO had met more than 10,000 people of Singapore. ASIMO will soon know where the next assignment will take place.
