Return to the US
Following a first appearance at NYSC in February 2002, ASIMO returned to the US in September to meet American friends on more social occasions, which turned out to be a truly pleasant experience for all parties concerned. It appears ASIMO will soon be one of the very busy humanoid robots appearing in motor shows, humanoid events, museums, etc.
Such a warm reception in the US
ASIMO's second visit in the US began on September 7, 2002, at the Convention Center in Columbus, Ohio, where ASIMO was welcomed by the family members of Honda US employees. Then, on September 8, ASIMO visited COSI (Center of Science and Industry), also located in Columbus, where ASIMO demonstrated talents in front of a large audience. Many children joined as ASIMO did the favorite hula dance. The "stand on one foot" game was also a very popular event among the children. ASIMO's appearance was covered by local TV stations.
On September 10, ASIMO visited Children's Hospital, demonstrating walk shows for the young inpatients, who will never forget the exciting experience along with the group picture of them taken with the world famous humanoid robot.
